Seasick Steve re-issued

Yes folks, Steve's awesome debut with the Level Devils, 'Cheap' has been re-leased on the back of his recent his steller rise to world domination.

Catch the old boy in full band rockin' mode intercut with spoken word tales of the hobo life. It really is jolly good indeed!

He's featured in this months MOJO magazine (of course, we were there first - read our interview with him last year here ) and you can even vote for him in the MOJO awards. As his shadowey handler 'The Skunk' puts it:

"We all agree that the dog hisself is the the new king of pop but let's make this official. Git yourselves over to www.mojo4music.com/promo/awards07/awards.shtml
Here you can vote for Seasick in all manner of categories, most of which he is perfectly entitled to win."

LATE NEWS: Although all Steves forthcoming London shows are SOLD OUT he will be playing a one-off show on Thursday 22nd of March at Virgin Megastore in London's Piccadilly Circus. Steve plays at 6pm so get out of work early and witness the magic for FREE!!!

Not only that, but it appears that he might be supporting The Who on the Isle of Man at the end of May. Strange days indeed.

Mike Dowling advance tickets

Giuitar virtuoso Mike Dowling (USA) is on his annual UK Tour with an exclusive London appearance is at Brooks Blues Bar at the Green Note Café-Bar on Thursday 7 June.

In a career spanning four decades, Mike Dowling has paid his dues as side man, session player, bandleader and now solo performer and Grammy award-winning composer. His influences are American roots music and jazz – from the traditional Piedmont style fingerpicking of Mississippi John Hurt and swing jazz legends like the great George Barnes, he nevertheless had developed his own style which he translates fluently to arch top, flat top and resonator guitars alike.  From bottleneck blues on a well worn National to swing interpretations of jazz greats – Mike can do it all.

His repertoire of early blues, swing, rag-time and originals coupled with an engaging voice and self-deprecating wit have captivated fans of acoustic music throughout the US and Europe.  He is a much sought-after teacher, conducting master-classes throughout the USA and UK.

Vulnerables Award

favourites and, it seems, indie darlings, the Vulnerable Things have been shortlisted for the Indy Music Awards.

Great to see a band who deal in blues but who also go their own way making it on the mean streets of the London music scene.

Vote for them now at: www.indyawards.co.uk

Their new album 'Flat Footed' is nearly finished too, so look out for more details here soon.

Redmouth TV

Our Man in Alabama, Eric Gebhardt has been busy lately. His new CD is almost ready for release and sounding wicked - look out for our review here. He's also recently taken to the stage with a new band. Says Eric "I heard that someone around town described it as a near religious experience. We practiced 3 times and got up there with a 6 song set and blew out in Ramones time, got off, hit the bar and people were just left with their jaws to the floor. Hahaha"

Not only that, he's been on TV too. Check out the accompanying clip of him doing one of the standout tracks off the new record on a Muscle Shoals station. Damn he's good!
